Casey

Presentation

Next week I have been asked to present at a conference for healthcare professionals. It will be mainly NICU nurses and staff, but it is open to others as well so I am sure there will be a good mix of people. A company that makes products we have used since Casey was born hosts the conference and asked me to be this year’s parent speaker. We LOVE Neotech and I was honored that they asked me. We have juggled our nurses schedule around so that Tim will have help and still be able to work while I am gone, so I am headed to Los Angeles for a couple of days this week. I am always a mess leaving Casey, but I am looking forward to getting back to California. I haven’t been back since we moved to Texas in January 2008. It will be a quick trip.

I am going to tell Casey’s story and what it’s like as a parent to have a child in the NICU, then what it’s like to go home with a child that needs ongoing medical care. I have been working on my presentation and pulled a bunch of pictures from over the years. This is not my actual presentation, but you can see some of the pictures I am using in the link below. It may take some time to load- it’s kind of big (I think the run time is just over 16 minutes). I tried to make it a little smaller by not adding music. Anyway, if you would like to watch a slideshow of Casey over the years you can check out the link below.
